A Note About Progressive Classes: As the name suggests this is a progressive class where the instruction imparted evolves from one class to the next and builds upon the content already covered. When you book this class, you will be booked for the entire semester. We require that students commit to and attend all classes. This a spring semester class so it runs on its designated day and time from March 1st to May 31th.
Ballet is performance dance at its graceful best. Widely known as a classical style of expressive dancing based on precise conventional steps with gestures and movements of grace a fluidity. Having originated in the fifteenth century it has since become a widespread and highly technical form of dance. Ballet has been popular globally and has contributed to techniques used in many other dance genres and cultures.
In our Ballet Bees class, students will learn the basics of developing physical and spatial awareness in a ballet class setting through a series of consistent warm-ups, stretches and technique combinations. They will understand how to communicate dance through motion and emotion. Students will demonstrate proper ballet etiquette and conduct a safe, orderly atmosphere.
Materials Needed: Portable dance barre and/or Floor Mat
Amaya Gomez-McPhersonGrowing up, Amaya always loved to perform. Whether it was on the football field with her color guard team, in the gym tumbling, or on the stage dancing for recitals and musicals, she loved the spotlight. She began working with children in non-profit arts organizations and has found working with youth is where her passion lies.Amaya is trained in ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop. After receiving her Bachelors in performing arts at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles, CA, she has continued to teach, not only to kids but to adults as well!
