Hip hop as cultural movement originated in the streets of Bronx during the early 1970s. Hip Hop spread across the country during the mid 1980s and early 1990s receiving widespread mainstream success building on a foundation of musical innovation seldom seen. Hip Hop incorporates different elements of art like DJing, rapping, B-boying and graffiti art. Today Hip Hop is as mainstream as any other music genre and dance form. The movement has seen considerable change and evolution since its inception and has become a global phenomenon. To this day, hip hop continues to be a dominant force influencing the culture around the world.

Shanice JohnsonShanice started dancing at the age of 3 in New York City. By the age of 9 she started to tour the world with a children’s dance company and model. At 11 years – she began to compete internationally as a dancer. And at 14 years -she then began dancing for various music artists, politicians, and award shows. Now Shanice loves to teach and coach younger generations, as well as spread her passion for nutrition education.
