Week 1 | Students will begin to learn dance techniques often used when background dancing for music artists in award shows. warm up : 10 minutes Freeze dance: 5 minutes Choreography: 15 minutes Show and tell: 10 minutes Warm down : 5 minutes By the end of the class students will understand how to dance in sync to the music and how to execute clean and sharp movements. materials needed: sneakers | Students will begin to learn the fundamentals of breakdancing. warm up : 10 minutes Freeze dance: 5 minutes Choreography: 15 minutes Show and tell: 10 minutes Warm down : 5 minutes By the end of the class students will learn how to do simple choreography and four common breakdance poses. materials needed: sneakers | Students will begin to learn body isolations. warm up : 10 minutes Freeze dance: 5 minutes Choreography: 15 minutes Show and tell: 10 minutes Warm down : 5 minutes By the end of class students will execute full body isolations and the “wave” within choreography. No materials needed | Students will learn new dance vocabulary and choreography that will help them identify movement in breakdance.

Week 4 | Students will learn how to properly execute high energy performance while incorporating personal stylized touches to choreography. warm up : 10 minutes Freeze dance: 5 minutes Choreography: 15 minutes Show and tell: 10 minutes Warm down : 5 minutes At the end of class students will understand how to add contrast, embellishment and motif dance techniques to their performance. No Materials Needed | Students will learn new break dance choreography that will encourage and build self confidence. warm up : 10 minutes Freestyle dance game: 5 minutes Students choreo: 20 minutes Show and tell: 10 minutes By the end of class students will be able to learn and create different break dance movements as well as perform for their peers. materials needed: sneakers , knee pads | Students will learn choreography that incorporates isolations, waacking, tutting and freestyle techniques warm up : 10 minutes Freestyle dance game: 5 minutes Students choreo: 15 minutes Show and tell: 10 minutes Warm down : 5 minutes At the end of class students will be able to identify various arm techniques within the choreography.
